Global Air Cargo Rally Gains Momentum


All regions, except Latin America, posted double-digit growth, with Europe leading the rally, according to the industry body.

The continued growth in demand for air cargo is consistent with an improvement in world trade that saw new global export orders remaining close to a six-year high in May, IATA said.

However, there are some signs that the cyclical growth period may have peaked, indicated by a rise in the global inventory-to-sales ratio.

The outlook for air cargo remains optimistic despite these developments, according to IATA, which expects demand to grow at a robust rate of 8 percent during the third quarter.
