Caterpillar Distributor Uses TMS from TECSYS

Empire Southwest, the Caterpillar dealer for Arizona, Southeastern California and portions of Northern Mexico, has chosen TECSYS's EliteSeries transportation management system. Empire Southwest will interface the TMS with its own systems and implement the program under the name eTrac. Using handheld devices, Empire employees will track incoming and outgoing product, shop for transportation rates and confirm delivery to customers.
"The work we are doing at Empire is an extension of supply chain solutions we have installed at other Caterpillar dealers," says Greg MacNeill, president of the Logistics Management Group at Montreal-based TECSYS. "This implementation is the type of scenario we excel at-using advanced reporting and tracking as part of a process that has a real impact on an organization."
