Descartes Updates Home-Delivery App for Retailers

Part of the vendor's cloud-based Logistics Technology Platform, the tool is composed of Descartes Reservations for delivery appointment scheduling; Route Planner for route optimization, dispatch and tracking; Mobile for wireless communications and mobile applications, and Notifications for automated call-outs. According to Descartes, Route Planner supports same- and next-day delivery, tight delivery time windows and "white-glove" services planning for consumers, while offering retailers a number of home-delivery options. The application is available in multiple languages, including French, Spanish, Japanese, Korean and Mandarin Chinese. It supports map technology such as Here, Google, Yahoo and Baidu, as well as a variety of mobile device-operating systems.
