UPS Expands Cold-Chain Packaging Service for Healthcare


The offering now includes export consultation, package procurement and four new, off-the - shelf packaging lines that are available exclusively to UPS customers. Each was engineered, tested and pre-qualified by the manufacturer for use in UPS's U.S. domestic network. UPS helps customers to select and procure the appropriate cold-chain packaging to meet designated levels of safety and protection standards. Temperature True Packaging today supports more than 500 healthcare companies globally, the company said. Experts in the U.S., Europe and Asia Pacific help customers to optimize package engineering and validation through design, operational and performance qualification protocols. UPS's proprietary packaging options keep items refrigerated or frozen in a controlled temperature environment for two or more days. The service is aimed at healthcare companies shipping pharmaceuticals, biologics, diagnostic specimens and vaccines.
