Shaving Strokes Off the Supply Chain Process For PING

PING, a leading manufacturer of innovative golf equipment and accessories for everyone from tour pros to weekend players, partnered with John Galt Solutions to strengthen its supply chain planning capabilities. Through implementation of Galt’s Atlas Planning platform, PING was able to create a fully integrated demand and supply planning environment.

The initiative was designed to eliminate disconnected forecasting workbooks, reduce manual data transfers, and align cross-functional teams around a single source of truth. By bringing demand forecasting, production planning, component planning and material requirements into one system, PING established a seamless flow from market signal to procurement execution.

The new platform enables planners to build a demand forecast and immediately translate it into an assembly plan, component mix and material purchase recommendations. Scenario modeling allows the team to evaluate different demand assumptions, launch timelines and capacity constraints while maintaining visibility across the entire planning horizon. This integration has significantly improved coordination between marketing and operations.

A key outcome for PING has been the development of a more collaborative, circular planning process. Demand planners now participate directly in supply planning meetings, reviewing level-loaded production schedules and monthly buy recommendations. Their continued involvement ensures that market insights are validated against operational realities before decisions are finalized, improving alignment, accountability and responsiveness.

John Galt also supported PING during a major ERP transition, helping the company maintain business continuity and stabilize planning processes during go-live. With a stronger foundation in place, PING is now well-positioned to expand into advanced statistical modeling, AI-driven launch forecasting, optimized capacity management and more strategic inventory positioning. By leveraging historical data and automation, the company is building a more agile, data-driven planning organization capable of improving forecast accuracy, enhancing service levels and making smarter inventory and capacity decisions across its global operations.
