Keppel Expands in Singapore with New Air Logistics Hub
Keppel Logistics Pte Ltd. (Keppel Logistics), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Telecommunications & Transportation Ltd, (Keppel T&T), has leased a two-hectare site for 30 years from JTC Corporation to develop an air logistics hub in the eastern part of Singapore.

U.S. Consumers Value Low Prices More than Same-Day Delivery, Survey Finds
Consumers are much more interested in free delivery and lower prices than in the same-day delivery of goods ordered online, according to a survey conducted by The Boston Consulting Group. Only 9 percent of the 1,500 U.S. consumers surveyed cited same-day delivery as a top factor that would improve their online shopping experience, while 74 percent cited free delivery and 50 percent cited lower prices.

Although mail, express and logistics companies are benefiting from the growth of e-commerce in Europe, to date few service providers have developed the sophisticated services which e-retailers demand.
ATA Truck Index Posts Best January in History
The American Trucking Associations' advanced seasonally adjusted for-hire truck tonnage index increased 2.9 percent in January after jumping 2.4 percent in December. Tonnage has surged at least 2.4 percent every month since November, gaining a total of 9.1 percent over that period. As a result, the SA index equaled 125.2 (2000=100) in January versus 121.7 in December. January's index was the highest on record. Compared with January 2012, the SA index was up a robust 6.5 percent the best year-over-year result since December 2011.
UPS and Jabil Will Provide Reverse Logistics Services
United Parcel Service of America (UPS) has formed a partnership with electronic circuit boards manufacturer, Jabil Circuit, to provide reverse logistics services globally. Under the partnership, UPS's logistics and distribution business unit and Jabil's aftermarket services division will provide optimized reverse logistics solutions for return and repair programs to original equipment manufacturers, service providers and enterprises.
Intentional GPS Jamming by Truck Drivers
Moonlighting van drivers are probably to blame for the growing problem of GPS jamming on Britain's roads, the latest survey of the problem by the Technology Strategy Board's Sentinel Project has suggested. In advance of the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) Vulnerabilities 2013 event, the organization revealed its network of sensors had recently detected up to 100 potentially dangerous jamming incidents a day near one busy UK airport alone.
FedEx Increases Deep Frozen Shipping Solutions
FedEx has introduced new features to its Deep Frozen Shipping Solution to provide more options and broader access for its healthcare customers. The company said that the new service helps customers move temperature-sensitive samples and specimens globally using an alternative to dry ice.

UPS has launched of UPS Access Point, a network of convenience stores, petrol stations and newsagents which consumers purchasing goods on the web can choose for delivery and returns. It is starting with a network of 600 sites with 1,500 set to be in place in the United Kingdom by June 2013.
