Advanced System for Set Top Boxes Improves Testing Accuracy, Reduces Expenses for Cable Operators

Solution: We developed Evalue8, an advanced STB tester built to ensure accurate results. Evalue8's intuitive, integrated operator interface requires minimal operator interaction, eliminating the issues created by subjective testing.

The Evalue8 tests eight STB SKUs simultaneously per bench and features an intuitive color-coded operator screen to further reduce user error.

Results: Cable operators have: Experienced operational productivity gains of 114 percent; Seen fewer NTF units, giving them more confidence that refurbished equipment functions properly; Sent fewer bad units to customers. Evalue8 fails 30%-50% more units; this has translated to a reduction in house call, technical support, and swap cost expenses; Validated parametric and trending analysis with data-driven testing reports; Invested less time and labor on testing.
