Optel Vision Issues Update of Site Server Software

The tool consists of L3 server software with a web-based user and machine interface. It covers all aspects of track and trace and aggregations, while streamlining communications between serialization-related systems. According to Optel, the OSM architecture was specially designed to adapt to customer-specific business logic and I.T. environments, and evolve as needed. Acting as a hub that coordinates actions between lines, plant and corporate, OSM gathers data from packaging lines (L2) and communicates information through existing enterprise resource planning or manufacturing execution systems (L3) and up to the corporate level (L4). It obtains serial numbers and sends back EPCIS reports through a central configuration and monitoring point. OSM can allocate instructions and data to packaging lines as planned and specified by production managers and packaging-line engineers.
