Artificial intelligence promises huge benefits to the logistics sector — so why is it so slow in being fully adopted there?

AI is omnipresent in the modern-day business world, at least in its nascent stages. What’s lacking in many industries — and logistics in particular — is full adoption of a technology that can help solve highly complex problems and boost service efficiency and quality. Yet according to a recent study from MIT and Boston Consulting Group, just 10% of organizations are currently realizing real financial benefits from the use of AI. On this episode, we discuss the promise and prospects of AI for logistics — what it’s capable of delivering, the problems it can solve, and why the complexities of the sector are ideally suited for the technology. Our guest is Jonathan Wray, co-founder of Aible, a platform for AI and machine learning. He also talks about what AI can’t do. Hosted by Bob Bowman, Editor-in-Chief of SupplyChainBrain.
