Logistics company Gebrüder Weiss is launching a contest calling on artists to imagine what the future of transportation, logistics and supply chains might look like 250 years from now.
According to a September 15 release, Gebrüder Weiss will accept paintings, illustrations, digital art, mixed media, photography or any other original visual works. The prompt itself is a simple one: "What will the transportation of goods look like in the year 2276?"
“As a company with more than 500 years of history in transportation and logistics, we have witnessed remarkable changes in how the world connects,” said Gebrüder Weiss North America CEO Mark McCullough. "The 250th anniversary of the United States is an opportunity not only to celebrate our nation's past but also to inspire conversations about the future. We're excited to see how artists envision the next era of innovation, logistics, connectivity, and transportation."
Submissions will be looked at by panel of judges from arts communities and innovation sectors, who will evaluate based on creativity, originality, artistic quality and interpretation of the theme. The grand prize winner will receive $2,500, while 11 other artists will each get a $250 gift card. All 12 selected submissions will be featured in Gebrüder Weiss's 2027 art calendar and showcased in the company's digital gallery.
Submissions opened up on September 15, and will extend through October 20. Winners will be announced on November 2.
