TZA Consulting Unveils Software and Services for Slotting

Tom Zosel Associates, Ltd. (TZA Consulting) has debuted a product to optimize the slotting process for warehouse and distribution operations. The new offering combines software and engineering services to help customers boost capacity and throughput, maximize material flow and space, and enhance productivity, according to the vendor. It utilizes a cost-based evaluation model to calculate tradeoffs between square footage, replenishment costs and picking productivity. It incorporates AutoCad three-dimensional graphic rendering capability for clear visual representation of SKU movements within a facility. And it aids in the evaluation of options and scenarios during the planning and design phases of an operation. TZA's slotting methodology can be applied as a constrained analysis of an existing facility, or as an unconstrained analysis of a new operation during planning and design. The service offers rapid deployment, in most cases rolling out a new project in three to five weeks, the company claimed.
