The initiative represents the first time that leading container carriers have come together to improve safety performance, the members said. Together they will identify common safety “hotspots” across the container shipping industry, and devise ways to address their underlying causes. Founding members of CSSF are CMA CGM Group, Costamare Shipping Co. S.A., E.R. Schiffahrt GmbH & Cie. BSR, a global business network and consultancy focused on sustainability issues, is acting as secretariat and facilitator for CSSF.
