Walmart has announced plans to bring drone deliveries to the Denver and Seattle metropolitan areas in 2027, as it looks to continue expanding the service to hundreds of stores across the U.S.

As part of its partnership with Alphabet-owned Wing, Walmart drones currently serve metro areas in Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas-Forth Worth, Orlando and Houston. The company has plans to bring the service to a total of 270 Walmart store locations by the end of 2027, spanning Cincinnati, Denver, Los Angeles, Memphis, Miami, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Phoenix and St. Louis among others.

“Adding new metros to our expansion speaks to how quickly people across the country are adopting drone delivery," said Wing chief business officer Heather Rivera. "We're excited to serve the needs of busy families in nearly 20 major markets spanning diverse communities and climates by delivering the everyday items these families need fast.”

Wing's delivery drones can cruise at speeds of up to 60 miles an hours, and carry up to five pounds of load. The service is largely centered around smaller groceries and household items. Walmart has yet to specify when exactly in 2027 drone services will start in Seattle and Denver, or in any of the other cities listed as "coming soon" on Wing's website.
