Descartes Acquires Airclic Inc.

Airclic's products are aimed at the "last mile" of logistic chains. Its platform provides configurable mobile technology and electronic proof-of-delivery which operates on a handheld device carried by the driver. The technology is aimed at multiple industries, including third-party logistics, food and beverage, retail and healthcare. The purchase price of the acquisition was approximately $29.7m. Descartes offers applications for various aspects of transportation management, including routing, scheduling, tracking and measuring delivery resources, planning and executing shipments, auditing and payment of transportation invoices, and global trade management. Headquarters are in Waterloo, Ont.
