In 2013, Amazon opened two fulfillment centers in the Dallas area.

Prime Now is launching in select Dallas-area zip codes and is expected to expand rapidly to additional zip codes in Dallas and surrounding areas soon. All Prime members can download the Prime Now app, available on iOS and Android devices, and will be notified when the service is available in their local area. In Dallas, Prime Now is available from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week. Two-hour delivery is free and one-hour delivery is available for $7.99 in most zip codes.

Born at the Dock argues that a supply chain plan is not complete when software approves it; it is complete only when the physical network can execute it and the customer receives the order in full. The whitepaper reframes planning around the dock, where inventory must be found, cases picked, pallets built, shipments staged, trailers loaded legally, carriers dispatched, and destinations prepared to receive.

Transportation Under Pressure: Planning Through Fuel, Capacity and Regulatory Shocks

Transportation Under Pressure applies the Born at the Dock standard to a transportation market exposed to volatile fuel prices, tightening carrier capacity, regulatory change, labor constraints, and regional disruption.
