Corning Awards Life Sciences Business to Kuehne & Nagel

Under the agreement, Kuehne & Nagel will handle the logistics for Corning's customers out of a new distribution center in Shanghai, in the Yangshan Free Trade Port Area. Services will include the consolidation of intercontinental sea freight shipments from Corning Life Sciences' global locations, warehousing, pick and pack, and distribution of products for the Asia-Pacific market. Establishing the operation within the Shanghai Free Trade zone area will allow for more efficient and cost-effective handling.

“We are excited to work with Kuehne + Nagel to establish this new distribution center as it confirms our commitment to customers in Asia and to the future of the life sciences market here,” said Doug Lohse, regional general manager, Corning Life Sciences Asia. “This new investment increases our ability to efficiently bring cutting-edge products and solutions to the region. As a global leader of solutions for life science researchers, Corning’s technology plays a key role in enabling our customers to make and deliver breakthrough discoveries.”

“We are delighted to enter into this new partnership to support Corning Life Sciences’ continued growth in Asia,” said Wong Siew Loong President, Kuehne + Nagel North Asia. “The new distribution centre in Yangshan, Shanghai, leverages our expertise in supply chain distribution solutions and we look forward to building a long-term relationship with Corning Life Sciences.”
