The International Finance Corporation signed a new deal with Cambodia’s Ministry of Public Works and Transport April 19 to set up a public-private partnership (PPP) in order to establish a logistics complex in the southwest part of the country over the next few years.

Under the deal, the IFC will help the Cambodian government curate an international competitive bidding and procurement process that will eventually lead to the two entities extending a development offer to a single qualified private organization under the country's PPP laws. Once selected, the chosen developer will be tasked with financing, developing and operating the infrastructure, facilities and systems within the complex.

An offer will likely be granted to a winning bidder by 2024, with construction on the hub expected to take up to three years.
