SAP Unveils Apps for Digital Asset Management

The new tools are intended to help equipment manufacturers, service providers and asset operators benefit from the Internet of Things. SAP Asset Intelligence Network provides a single, global register of model and equipment information. It includes a secure cloud platform linking multiple business partners via a central clearinghouse and communications hub. The portal allows for the sharing of standardized content and helps to ensure a consistent definition among business partners. SAP Predictive Maintenance was designed to help businesses lower their maintenance and service costs while boosting the availability and reliability of key assets. Using predictive analytics on the SAP HANA platform, the tool processes real-time operational data from sensors and smart assets.
