Cognex Unveils New Barcode Technology for Tire Manufacturers

The suite of products was designed to address difficulties in reading barcodes and low-contact embossed characters for tire manufacturers. The tool integrates machine-vision knowledge, identification expertise and barcode-reading technology into pre-configured systems that meet tire-industry requirements. Cognex Tire Solutions incorporates patented algorithms for high-speed barcode reading and optical character recognition (OCR). It includes DataMan fixed-mount readers, Xpand technology for covering a larger field of view, and DS1000 software, with 3D and 2D vision toolsets for additional inspection capabilities.
